Tyre Technician

About the role

Sunda International is seeking a skilled Tyre Technician to join its vehicle maintenance team in Kumasi, Ghana. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and performance of tyres on trucks, trailers and other heavy‑duty vehicles.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect tyres regularly to detect wear, damage, punctures and other safety issues.
• Remove, install and replace tyres on trucks, trailers and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Perform tyre repairs such as puncture repair, patching and tube replacement.
• Check and maintain tyre pressure according to manufacturer specifications.
• Conduct tyre rotation, wheel balancing and condition assessments.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, replacements and mileage.
• Identify tyre‑related problems and recommend actions to extend tyre life and improve vehicle safety.
• Operate tyre service equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
• Handle, store and maintain tyres and related equipment properly.
• Follow HSE procedures during all maintenance activities.
• Provide technical support to the broader maintenance team on tyre issues.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience as a Tyre Technician, Tyre Fitter or similar role.
• Experience with heavy‑duty trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles is preferred.
• Good knowledge of tyre repair, fitting, inflation and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.

• Operation of air compressors and tyre service tools.
• Tyre repair and fitting techniques.
• Understanding of vehicle safety standards and maintenance practices.
