VAC Supervisor (Genealogy Audits)

About the role

FamilySearch is seeking a VAC Supervisor in Accra, Ghana (no local hire) to support its mission of discovering and preserving the genealogy of people in rural African villages. The supervisor manages the schedule of oral genealogy interview auditors, trains them, improves audit processes, communicates with contractors and maintains high audit quality so that collected oral genealogy data, audio and photographs meet quality standards and are completed on time. The role provides technical and administrative direction and oversees the day-to-day operations of a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure Church policy and procedures are followed by auditors and correct any discrepancies.
• Coach and train employees, give feedback and identify their developmental and training needs.
• Plan work for subordinates, set short-term priorities, prepare schedules and assign work according to priorities, difficulty and employee capabilities.
• Set performance standards, evaluate performance and make personnel decisions such as promotions, pay advances or removals.
• Advise employees on technical and administrative matters and provide a safe workplace.
• Correct work and address behavioral or other issues, referring complex issues to higher levels.

Required profile

• Member of the Church and worthy of Temple recommendation.
• 6 years of combined related experience, or progress toward or completion of a university (post-secondary) degree or an industry-recognized certification.
• Former work-related leadership experience.
• Proven ability to engage with senior leaders, manage complex situations with composure and empathy, and build rapport and trust.
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in business, communications, technology, human resource management or a related discipline; advanced degree; customer service or contact center experience; familiarity with the Church's temporal and ecclesiastical communication and operational structures.
