Veterinarian

About the role

Mishvet Services is seeking a full‑time, on‑site Veterinarian to provide comprehensive medical care for companion and farm animals in Achimota, Accra.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical examinations, diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments.
• Administer vaccinations, conduct preventive health checks and manage herd health programs.
• Interpret laboratory results, imaging and other diagnostic tests.
• Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and educate clients on animal health, nutrition and disease prevention.
• Participate in emergency care, quality improvement initiatives and community outreach.

Required profile

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Eligibility for professional registration or licensing in Ghana.
• Experience with both companion and farm animals is highly beneficial.
• Willingness to work emergency, weekend or after‑hours shifts.
• Commitment to animal welfare, ethical practice and relevant veterinary regulations.

Required skills

• Surgical procedures (routine and advanced).
• Vaccination protocols and parasite control.
• Interpretation of diagnostic tests, laboratory analyses and imaging.
• Herd health management and preventive medicine.
