Veterinary Nurse

About the role

Mishvet Services is a veterinary healthcare provider offering preventive care, diagnostics, surgery and treatment for companion and farm animals, operating in Chantan, Accra, Ghana. It is hiring a full-time, on-site Veterinary Nurse based in Achimota to provide hands-on clinical support alongside skilled veterinarians.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with consultations, administer medications and monitor hospitalized patients
• Support surgical procedures, prepare animals for surgery and manage anesthesia under veterinary supervision
• Perform basic laboratory tests and maintain accurate medical records
• Educate clients on preventive care, nutrition and home management
• Keep treatment and kenneling areas clean, safe and well organized

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in veterinary nursing, or equivalent relevant qualification
• Registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate veterinary or animal health authority, where applicable
• Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, hospital or animal care facility is an advantage

Required skills

• Veterinary nursing, clinical support and patient monitoring
• Anesthesia monitoring and basic laboratory testing
• Strong communication and client education skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team and adapt to a fast-paced environment
