Vice Chancellor

About the role

The Vice Chancellor is the chief academic and administrative officer of Koforidua Technical University. As the Chief Executive Officer, the Vice Chancellor reports to the Governing Council and is responsible for the overall academic, financial and administrative performance of the university.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and conduct the university’s academic, financial and administrative business.
• Ensure operational efficiency and compliance with the university statutes.
• Provide strategic leadership and vision for teaching, research and community engagement.
• Represent the university in external relations, especially with industry and government partners.
• Oversee fundraising, resource mobilisation and development initiatives.

Required profile

• Hold a professorial status with a research postgraduate (preferably terminal) degree.
• Be an internationally recognised academic or distinguished scholar.
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, manage and direct staff.
• Extensive senior administrative experience in higher education.
• Strong leadership, organisational and crisis‑management capabilities.
• Visionary, business‑oriented and able to build industry‑university collaborations.
• Ability to raise funds and resources for research and development.
• Must be able to serve a full four‑year term before reaching the retirement age of 60.
