About the role
The Vice-Chancellor is the executive head of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, responsible for overall academic and administrative leadership. The role reports to the Governing Council and drives the university’s strategic vision.
Key responsibilities
- Lead both academic and administrative functions, ensuring quality higher education.
- Implement the university’s Strategic Plan and initiate new academic directions.
- Act as Chief Disciplinary Officer, overseeing staff and student discipline in line with statutes.
- Network with government, industry and stakeholders to secure resources and support.
- Manage crisis situations and uphold the university’s reputation.
Required profile
- Professorial rank or equivalent, internationally recognised scholar.
- Visionary leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate staff and manage large institutions.
- High integrity, sound judgement and capacity to handle disciplinary matters.
- Proven track record in fundraising and resource mobilisation.
