Volunteer Accountant – 3‑4 weeks in Ghana

About the role

This short‑term volunteer assignment supports a Ghanaian non‑profit that uses football programmes to empower disadvantaged youth. You will work on‑site with the local accountant to strengthen their financial management systems.

Key responsibilities

• Review and improve the current QuickBooks bookkeeping process.
• Design a simple manual bookkeeping system for the restaurant and bar.
• Assist in preparing an annual organisational budget using Excel or QuickBooks.
• Produce monthly income and expenditure reports for projects, the bar, restaurant and conference centre.
• Check grant compliance and reporting requirements.

Required profile

• Qualified accounting professional with experience in non‑profit finance.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks and Excel.
• Ability to work independently in a low‑resource environment.
• Interest in international development and youth programmes.
