Water Engineer – Civil/Mechanical Specialist

About the role

SLR is seeking a senior Water Engineer to join its multidisciplinary technical team in Ghana. You will work on innovative and sustainable solutions for waste and sewage conveyance, hydraulic system design, and public‑private water infrastructure projects across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering solutions in partnership with clients and contractors.
• Produce design calculations, specifications, bills of quantities, datasheets, drawings and technical reports.
• Support continuous improvement and digital engineering initiatives.
• Engage regularly with clients and stakeholders to maintain collaborative relationships.
• Collaborate across disciplines to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Assist with project management and documentation control.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff.

Required profile

• 12+ years of civil or mechanical engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a senior project‑management role.
• Professional registration with the Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE) or an equivalent body.
• Demonstrated experience working in Africa, including field surveys, groundwater sampling, drilling and pumping tests.
• Experience in the extractive sector (mining, oil & gas) is a plus.
• Proven business‑development track record, including client relationship management and proposal preparation.
