Business Manager

About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Manager to serve as the strategic liaison between our new Glass Project and all external stakeholders, including government agencies, traditional authorities, utility providers, and local communities. The primary goal is to secure the legal, social, and operational foundations of the factory, ensuring smooth infrastructure integration and full regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities
- Manage land transfer procedures for stool lands and private lands, coordinating with the Lands Commission for leasehold legality and title registration.
- Build and maintain relationships with the Traditional Council and local chiefs, resolving disputes on boundaries, compensation, or construction impact.
- Coordinate local labor requirements and community expectations to mitigate protest risks during construction.
- Secure and maintain the social license to operate through ongoing community engagement.
- Lead negotiations and track progress with GRIDCo/ECG for high‑voltage grid connection and with GWCL for industrial water supply.
- Coordinate gas sourcing and infrastructure with GNPC and Ghana Gas, overseeing gas station construction and price agreements.
- Oversee local contractors for site leveling and construction of access roads.
- Manage registration with GIPC, apply for quotas, and secure customs duty exemptions for imported machinery.
- Coordinate clearance of large‑scale equipment at Tema or Takoradi ports and resolve customs inspection disputes.
- Lead the application for Free Zone status and related tax benefits.
- Secure and renew permits including EPA, GSA, GNFS, and District Assembly building permits.
- Act as primary contact for Immigration and Police Service, handling inspections and maintaining a secure operating environment.
- Manage crisis response and security coordination with relevant authorities.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in large‑scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects in Ghana.
- In‑depth knowledge of Ghanaian government administrative processes and the Land Act.
- Established communication channels with Customs (GRA), Lands Commission, ECG/GRIDCo, or related energy sectors.
- Full professional proficiency in English; ability to speak or understand Twi or other local dialects is a strong advantage.
- Experience with Free Zone applications and management.
- Familiarity with glass manufacturing or heavy industrial projects.
