Event Planner

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Event Planner to lead the planning and execution of church‑related programmes and community events for Action Chapel International in Accra and the Tema region. The role involves turning concepts into memorable experiences while managing budgets, vendors and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Design event concepts, themes, schedules and operational plans from inception to completion.
• Prepare and control event budgets, quotations, purchase orders and expense tracking.
• Identify, negotiate with and coordinate vendors, venues, catering, décor, AV, transportation and accommodation.
• Manage internal teams, sponsors, speakers, volunteers and other stakeholders throughout the event lifecycle.
• Oversee logistics including set‑up, registration, guest management, seating, equipment and on‑site breakdown.
• Conduct site visits, venue inspections and ensure compliance with health, safety and security standards.
• Assess risks, develop contingency plans and resolve issues promptly during events.

Required profile

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Project Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, Communications or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience coordinating events, church programmes or ministry activities.
• Proven ability to work with pastors, ministry leaders, volunteers and external suppliers.
• Professional project‑management certification (e.g., PMP) is an advantage.
