Kitchen Equipment Technician

About the role

The Kitchen Equipment Technician ensures that all kitchen and hotel equipment operates safely and efficiently. Working on‑site at the Accra Marriott Hotel, you will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance, and support the overall mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems of the property.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions with minimal supervision.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machinery.
• Identify and operate shut‑off valves, use lockout/tagout procedures, and maintain an accurate inventory of parts and supplies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and HVAC diagrams to diagnose issues.
• Repair and replace components in air‑conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic, and kitchen equipment systems.
• Document daily activities, hand over shift reports, and follow all safety and security policies.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and act as Engineer on Duty when required.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical aptitude with above‑average engineering operations skills.
• Proficiency in at least three of the following: air‑conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicle maintenance, energy conservation, building management.
• Ability to read standard blueprints and electrical schematics.
• Experience using hand and power tools safely and following lockout/tagout protocols.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance and energy‑management software.
