About the role
The University of Ghana invites applications for the position of Provost, College of Humanities, effective 1 August 2024. Reporting to the Vice‑Chancellor, the Provost serves as the academic and administrative head of the College.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the College and drive its growth and development under the direction of the Vice‑Chancellor.
- Coordinate the various academic units within the College.
- Raise funds to support the College’s activities and initiatives.
- Implement policy decisions affecting the College.
- Oversee interdisciplinary teaching, learning and research across Arts, Social Sciences, Business and Law.
Required profile
- Must be a Professor or an industry professional eligible for the position.
- Demonstrated capacity to manage and lead a multi‑unit College.
- Evidence of managerial and administrative leadership.
- Ability to attract funding for the College.
- Willingness to serve at least one three‑year term, with possible re‑appointment.
