Regional Youth Coordinator – Ghana

About the role

The Regional Youth Coordinator will support the Project Manager in delivering Marie Stopes International Ghana’s youth‑focused reproductive health programme across Accra, Kumasi and Tamale. This role combines community mobilisation, partnership development and project oversight to ensure youth‑friendly services are available.

Key responsibilities

• Develop strong relationships with key partners including the Ghana Health Service at regional and district levels, local community leaders and other identified stakeholders.
• Facilitate community entry in targeted areas and maintain good relationships with community leaders throughout the project lifecycle, in collaboration with the Communication and Marketing team.
• Work with Community and Zonal Marketing agents to deliver project results, coordinating closely with MSIG’s Communication and Marketing functions.
• Participate in the development of action plans, budget preparation and assist in implementation to achieve youth project goals.
• Conduct monitoring visits to youth project activities in the region and submit detailed reports to ensure quality supervision and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate periodic reviews, including quarterly reviews, to capture success stories and identify areas for improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in allied health sciences, public health, social sciences or development studies (required).
• Additional professional qualifications, ideally in project management (desired).
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant post‑graduation work experience.
• Demonstrated strong project management skills for projects of similar size and scale.
• Experience working with young people through behaviour‑change communication, marketing activities or peer‑educator programmes.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to produce high‑quality reports.
• Experience working for or with international NGOs or multilateral/bilateral agencies such as the UN.
• Must be pro‑choice.
