About the role
The Assistant Reservations Manager supports the Reservations team in driving sales, maximizing revenue, and delivering exceptional guest experiences at the Accra Marriott Hotel. This full‑time, onsite position combines sales activities with operational oversight of reservations.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new reservations sales opportunities to meet personal and property revenue targets.
- Respond to inbound sales inquiries, negotiate contracts, and close business deals.
- Coordinate with Sales and Convention Services to process rooming lists, reservation cards, and group forecasts.
- Monitor same‑day selling, manage wait‑lists, and track no‑show reservations, ensuring accurate billing and charge processing.
- Provide training, work assignments, and performance guidance to Reservations Sales staff.
- Deliver service excellence throughout each customer interaction to build loyalty and increase account share.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED (no experience required) OR a 2‑year degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in sales, marketing, guest services, front desk, or a related hospitality role (preferred).
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitor activity, and demand trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer‑service skills.
Required skills
- Proficiency in using reservation systems and tracking tools.
