Backend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join our engineering team and help develop, maintain, and continuously improve our business‑critical platforms. The role goes beyond simple feature implementation; you will understand core business processes, trace issues across interconnected systems, and ensure reliable, high‑quality APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services and APIs.
• Build and maintain REST and GraphQL APIs used by web applications and external systems.
• Implement business logic for insurance and reinsurance workflows.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs and deliver complete features.
• Design, query, and optimise relational databases.
• Investigate and resolve production and staging issues through root‑cause analysis.
• Integrate third‑party services and APIs where required.
• Write clean, maintainable, secure, and testable code.

Required profile

• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to understand complex business processes.
• Experience troubleshooting across multiple systems and performing root‑cause analysis.
