Civil Engineer (Contract, On-Site)

About the role

ShapeKraft Ltd., a full-service construction and project management firm based in Accra, is hiring a contract, on-site Civil Engineer. The engineer works closely with project managers and site teams on residential, commercial and institutional projects, helping deliver them on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and validate civil drawings and specifications
• Support project planning and scheduling
• Coordinate with architects, surveyors and contractors
• Oversee site works so they comply with design standards, safety regulations and local codes
• Conduct site inspections and monitor construction quality
• Manage stormwater and drainage designs
• Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports, and help resolve issues on site

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field; professional registration or licensure is an advantage
• Proven experience in on-site construction supervision, quality control and safety compliance for residential or commercial projects
• Ability to work full-time on site in Accra, manage several tasks under time and budget constraints and adapt to changing conditions

Required skills

• Civil engineering design: preparing, reviewing and optimizing structural and infrastructure drawings and specifications
• Stormwater management: drainage design, runoff analysis and integration with site grading
• Planning: scheduling, resource allocation and coordination across design and construction phases
• Industry-standard design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD or Civil 3D, and familiarity with local building codes
• Analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, working well with multidisciplinary teams
