About the role
The Events Manager will oversee the planning and execution of property events at the Accra Marriott Hotel, ensuring a seamless experience from pre‑event sales through post‑event follow‑up. This full‑time, onsite role focuses on events of average complexity and aims to maximize revenue through up‑selling and enhancements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and manage all event documentation, coordinating with sales, property departments, and customers.
- Ensure smooth event logistics and operations, adhering to established procedures and standards.
- Handle billing accuracy, conduct bill reviews with clients, and process final invoices.
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space allocations for average to large‑sized groups.
- Identify operational challenges and develop solutions in collaboration with property staff and customers.
- Act as liaison between field salespeople and customers throughout the event lifecycle.
- Participate in site inspections and support the sales process as needed.
- Gather feedback from property departments to improve the event planning experience.
Required profile
- High school diploma or GED with 1–2 years of event management experience, OR a 2‑year degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related field with at least 1 year of experience.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to empower team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments and external clients.
