Technical Lead / QC

About the role

FLSmidth is seeking a Technical Lead / QC to head the engineering function of its new Service Centre workshop in Ghana. You will ensure that components are built and refurbished to the highest standards, supporting customers in delivering sustainable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the overall engineering activities of the workshop, ensuring compliance with FLSmidth specifications and good engineering practice.
• Manage tooling, vehicles, equipment and maintain a clean, orderly workplace.
• Oversee new component builds, refurbishments, and repairs from planning through to shipment.
• Own technical data, prepare assessment reports and cost estimates for refurbishment projects.
• Conduct quality control on all incoming and outgoing work and respond to breakdowns, including overtime when required.
• Lead and develop the workshop team, ensuring delivery of all commitments.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a mechanical fitting workshop.
• Qualified artisan, technician or engineer.
• Proven experience in costing repair jobs.
• Own transport and a KPI‑driven work ethic.
• Strong customer focus, excellent time‑management and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of OSHA and ISO standards relevant to workshop operations.
• Track record of fostering a high‑performance HSE culture.
• Proficiency with MS Office and ERP systems.
