Art Director – Creative Lead for Multilingual Campaigns

About the role

The Art Director at Publicis West Africa will shape visually compelling, insight‑driven creative concepts for a diverse portfolio of clients across Central and West Africa. Working closely with copywriters, creative directors, strategy, client service, production and external partners, you will ensure that every piece of communication meets both local and international creative standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conceive, develop and execute high‑quality visual ideas that align with client briefs and brand objectives.
• Lead the creative direction of photo and video shoots, illustration, design and animation, guiding photographers, directors and post‑production teams.
• Produce layouts, storyboards, mood boards and design concepts for internal and client presentations.
• Prepare detailed production briefs for suppliers and internal content studios.
• Maintain global‑standard execution across all channels – ATL, BTL, digital, social and activation.
• Protect and uphold each brand’s visual identity, tone and personality according to brand guidelines.
• Adapt and trans‑create campaign visuals for different markets, including English and Francophone versions.
• Collaborate with strategy, client service, traffic, production and external partners, contributing as a strong team player and creative lead.
• Participate actively in brainstorming sessions and manage workload efficiently under tight deadlines.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Art Director or senior visual designer in an agency environment.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating insight‑driven visual storytelling across multiple media.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary creative teams and communicate concepts clearly.
• Excellent time‑management skills, capable of handling pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
• Fluency in English; ability to work with French and Portuguese language markets is a plus.
