Boiler Technician

About the role

Nestlé Ghana is seeking a Boiler Technician for its Tema factory. The role is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining steam boilers and related utility systems to ensure a reliable steam supply for manufacturing while complying with safety and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Start‑up, shut‑down, and continuous monitoring of boilers and auxiliary equipment such as pumps, valves, compressors, and treatment systems.
• Maintain optimal operating conditions including pressure, temperature, combustion efficiency, and water levels.
• Record operational data in logbooks to ensure traceability and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor boiler water chemistry and support water‑treatment processes to prevent scaling, corrosion, and fouling.
• Troubleshoot abnormalities, resolve faults, and promptly escalate critical issues to minimise downtime.
• Ensure uninterrupted steam availability to meet production service‑level agreements.
• Participate in planned preventive maintenance (PPM) activities and assist maintenance teams during inspections and breakdowns.
• Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards in the boiler house in line with GMP requirements.
• Contribute to energy‑efficiency initiatives and continuous‑improvement programs within utilities operations.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in boiler operations within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Strong safety awareness and a compliance‑focused mindset.
• Solid knowledge of steam generation systems and boiler operations.
• Effective troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
• Calm and decisive response to emergencies.
• High attention to detail with accurate record‑keeping.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
