Business Development Manager – Steel Trading (Ghana)

About the role

Drive business development across Ghana by identifying high‑value opportunities in the steel sector, with a focus on hot‑rolled coil (HRC), cold‑rolled coil (CRC), galvanized iron (GI) and pre‑painted galvanized iron (PPGI). You will act as the primary point of contact for new and existing customers, shaping the company’s market presence in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full sales cycle—from prospecting and technical consultation through contract negotiation, closing, and long‑term account management.
• Analyze Ghanaian market dynamics, import regulations, competitor positioning, and regional demand patterns to develop localized sales strategies.
• Collaborate with supply‑chain, logistics and finance teams to navigate customs processes and ensure seamless order fulfillment.
• Cultivate strategic partnerships with existing clients while aggressively expanding market share to exceed sales targets.
• Represent the company at major Ghanaian trade events and industry associations to enhance brand visibility.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or a related field.
• Fluent English for daily business communication.
• Minimum 3 years of international steel trading experience with a proven record in import/export operations.
• Strong negotiation abilities, commercial acumen and an established network within the Ghanaian steel industry.
• Self‑starter, resilient, able to work independently and comfortable with frequent travel.
