About the role

The Conference & Banqueting Sales Manager oversees every aspect of banquet and event operations, from set‑up and menu planning to service, presentation and clean‑up, ensuring high‑quality delivery and exceptional customer service. The role also leads the banquet team, handling recruitment, training, coaching and performance management.

Key responsibilities

  • Actively sell banqueting services to achieve budgeted revenue targets and monitor competitor pricing and promotions.
  • Plan, organise and process all function bookings, maintaining accurate records for seamless execution.
  • Conduct weekly coordination meetings with the banqueting team, kitchen and support departments to review upcoming events.
  • Keep banquet menus and rates current in collaboration with the F&B Manager and ensure all client contracts are signed before events.
  • Orient, train and discipline banquet staff, and prepare weekly rosters aligned with projected business volume.
  • Secure full payment for functions in advance and extend credit only to approved clients.
  • Achieve and exceed annual food‑and‑beverage revenue targets while controlling costs.
  • Ensure all banquet staff are familiar with fire and emergency procedures.

Required profile

  • BSc in Hospitality Management or HND in Hotel Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role within a 5‑star hotel.
  • Strong understanding of food preparation, serving styles and beverage menus.
  • Excellent knowledge of banquet set‑up configurations and space utilisation.
  • Proven sales and closing abilities, with knowledge of staffing guidelines for various event types.
  • Ability to plan, forecast and execute events while managing manpower requirements.

Required skills

  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
