Director of Research, Innovation & Outreach

About the role

The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) at the University of Cape Coast seeks a visionary leader to head its Research, Innovation, and Outreach Directorate. This senior executive role will shape the Institute’s strategic direction, drive high‑impact research, and extend its outreach to national and international communities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide visionary strategic leadership for the Research, Innovation and Outreach Directorate, aligning initiatives with the Institute’s strategic plan and governance frameworks.
• Coordinate and drive the Institute’s research agenda, securing funding, overseeing proposal development, and promoting high‑quality scholarly outputs.
• Design and implement impactful outreach programmes, disseminating research findings and building partnerships with national and international stakeholders.
• Manage the directorate’s human resources, budget, audit processes and risk management to ensure operational excellence and compliance.

Required profile

• Citizenship of an ECOWAS member state.
• PhD in education or a closely related field.
• Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience in a university or research institution, with senior leadership responsibilities.
• Not older than 55 years at the date of appointment.
• Demonstrated international exposure and a strong record of research, innovation and outreach leadership.
