Driver – Transport Operations

About the role

The Driver will support Newmont’s transport operations at the Ahafo Mine in Ghana, ensuring safe and timely movement of personnel, documents and equipment across the site and to external locations. This onsite role is essential for maintaining efficient logistics within the mining environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily pick‑ups and drop‑offs of documents and personnel.
• Conduct pre‑start vehicle inspections and complete the required check‑list before each trip.
• Transport staff and cargo to various locations inside and outside the mine as required.
• Coordinate vehicle arrivals and departures to ensure prompt and safe operations.
• Prepare and submit reports on accidents, breakdowns and repairs to the Transport Supervisor.
• Provide feedback on completed tasks and assist with overtime travel requests.
• Load and off‑load machinery and other items, spending more than 50 % of working hours on equipment movement.
• Work under pressure while adhering to safety standards.

Required profile

• Minimum Senior High School Certificate.
• Valid Ghanaian driver’s licence.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel regularly.
• Ability to operate under pressure and follow safety procedures.
