Fractional CFO (Part-time)

About the role

Barka Fund is seeking a fractional CFO to strengthen the finance function across its Ghana portfolio companies. You will work directly with founders, helping them unlock better decisions and secure the next round of capital.

Key responsibilities

• Build the finance function: management accounts, budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and monthly reporting.
• Tighten controls, close processes and ensure audit readiness.
• Improve unit economics, pricing and working‑capital management.
• Prepare companies for investor and lender diligence.
• Coach and develop in‑house finance staff to sustain capability after your engagement.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, ICAG, CA or CPA) with senior finance leadership experience.
• Proven track record building finance functions in SMEs or growth‑stage companies.
• Comfortable operating in a growing business with limited systems and a small team.
• Experience in agriculture, manufacturing or consumer goods is an advantage.
• Based in Accra and willing to spend time on‑site with portfolio companies.
• Direct, practical and able to teach while delivering results.
