ICT Assistant Intern

About the role

The ICT Assistant Intern will join the ICT Unit of the UNDP Ghana Country Office, providing first‑level technical support and assisting with asset management. Working under the ICT Associate and Operations Manager, the intern helps ensure smooth digital operations for staff and project personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑level support for laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, Microsoft 365, Teams/Zoom, email and other collaboration tools.
• Log, track, escalate and follow up on ICT support requests to achieve timely resolution.
• Assist with the implementation of the Inventory Management System: validate asset records, tag equipment, update custodian assignments, and reconcile physical assets with system data.
• Support user account provisioning, onboarding/off‑boarding checklists, shared‑drive access requests and ICT operational reporting.
• Conduct network and connectivity checks, prepare meeting‑room ICT readiness, and contribute to cybersecurity awareness activities.
• Develop and maintain documentation, user guides, tips and training materials.
• Perform ad‑hoc ICT, business continuity and digital transformation tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or recently graduated from an ICT‑related program (implied by internship status).
• Ability to work under supervision and follow established procedures.
• Strong interest in IT support and asset management.

Required skills

• Microsoft 365 (including Teams and Outlook).
• Basic troubleshooting of Windows operating systems and common software.
• Experience with printers, mobile devices and peripheral hardware.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and asset tagging.
• Understanding of basic cybersecurity awareness practices.
