About the role
As an Embedded Linux Engineer you will join the R&D team of a client‑focused IoT platform, developing a custom, easy‑to‑use Linux‑based operating system for both client‑specific and third‑party hardware. The role involves maintaining open‑source OpenEmbedded/Yocto layers, collaborating with the Toradex BSP team, and ensuring high‑quality automated builds and tests.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and add support for Torizon OS on various System‑on‑Chip platforms such as NXP and TI, ensuring compatibility and performance.
- Work closely with internal R&D teams to guarantee Toradex’s full‑stack approach across hardware and software layers.
- Develop, maintain, and expand automated build pipelines and test suites for Torizon OS to uphold quality standards.
- Continuously refine DevOps best practices, including CI/CD processes, to improve development efficiency.
Required profile
- Proven experience with OpenEmbedded/Yocto and adherence to its best practices.
- Strong background in Embedded Linux development and embedded system design.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems and kernel internals.
- Intermediate proficiency with Docker containers and image management.
- Proactive attitude with clear communication skills.
