About the role
As an Embedded Linux Engineer you will join the R&D team of a client‑focused IoT platform, developing a custom Linux‑based operating system for client‑specific and third‑party hardware. The role involves maintaining open‑source OpenEmbedded/Yocto layers, collaborating with the Toradex BSP team, and ensuring high‑quality automated builds and tests.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and add support for Torizon OS on various SoC platforms (e.g., NXP, TI) and keep close contact with R&D teams to ensure a full‑stack approach.
- Maintain and expand automated build and test cases for Torizon OS, continuously improving DevOps best practices.
- Develop and maintain Embedded Linux BSPs, including bootloader, Linux kernel, device drivers, and ecosystem porting of third‑party libraries.
- Focus on Debian package and container development, maintaining Debian‑based Docker images and automated build infrastructure.
Required profile
- Mandatory: experience with OpenEmbedded/Yocto, Embedded Linux and embedded systems, advanced Linux knowledge, intermediate Docker knowledge, proactive communication.
- Nice to have: contributions to FOSS projects or Debian.
- Willing to learn OS/debugging techniques, build automation, CI/CD, and automated testing.
