Loan Officer – Madina & Legon Enclave

About the role

The Loan Officer will manage a portfolio of personal and business loans for customers residing in the Madina and Legon Enclave areas. You will be responsible for driving loan disbursement, ensuring high repayment rates, and delivering excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve minimum monthly loan disbursement targets as defined in the performance contract.
• Maintain a repayment rate of at least 97% across the portfolio.
• Market UCML’s loan products and ensure compliance with all company policies during disbursement.
• Keep accurate records of business and personal loan customers.
• Monitor loan repayments, flag red‑flag cases, and take remedial action promptly.
• Conduct regular customer visits, report on client interactions, and maintain daily call reports.
• Design and organise blitz days to boost sales activity.
• Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints within the defined turnaround time, and ensure fair treatment of customers.
• Maintain a clean desk policy and protect customer information according to company guidelines.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the line manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in sales, credit, micro‑finance, savings‑and‑loans, or related relationship‑management roles.
• HND or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; sales or marketing background is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of the banking environment, credit appraisal, and financial analysis.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven problem‑solving, decision‑making, and time‑management abilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
