Maths Expert – Remote Contract

About the role

We are looking for a highly qualified Mathematics Expert to design and solve challenging mathematical problems that will be used to evaluate large language models. This short‑term, fully remote contract involves close collaboration with AI researchers and requires clear, step‑by‑step reasoning.

Key responsibilities

• Design and solve advanced mathematics problems for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
• Create detailed, step‑by‑step solutions with thorough reasoning.
• Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop new evaluation tasks spanning undergraduate to PhD‑level mathematics.
• Analyze complex mathematical challenges using a logical, structured approach.
• Explain mathematical concepts clearly using simple language, visual aids, and examples.

Required profile

• Master’s, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Creative and lateral thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities in a remote work environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: Magma, Macaulay2, Singular, GAP, SageMath, Polymake, 4ti2, LattE, DIPHA, PHAT, AUTO-07P, XPPAUT, Perseus, Stan, PyMC, OR‑Tools, Z3, PARI/GP, fpLLL.

What we offer

• Short‑term contract (11 weeks) with immediate start.
• Compensation of $450 per approved task.
• Remote work with an 8‑hour daily commitment and a 4‑hour overlap with Pacific Standard Time.
