OTC Sales Trader

About the role

String operates a live OTC desk that provides on‑demand liquidity, foreign‑exchange and settlement across fiat and stable‑coin rails in Africa. As an OTC Sales Trader you will originate institutional payment and FX flow, build relationships with businesses that need USD, USDT, USDC and local African currencies, and manage the full commercial cycle from sourcing to settlement.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prospect businesses (MTOs, PSPs, corporates, exporters, importers, crypto participants) with recurring demand for USD, USDT, USDC and African currencies.
• Quote live market prices using String’s proprietary pricing engine and execute trades across fiat and stable‑coin pairs.
• Coordinate settlement across banking and mobile‑money rails, ensuring funding confirmation and compliance with risk limits.
• Onboard counterparties, complete KYC/AML checks and maintain ongoing compliance.
• Develop and maintain a network of OTC desks, liquidity providers and institutional counterparties to improve pricing and execution capacity.

Required profile

• Strong interest in foreign‑exchange, payments and crypto‑asset markets.
• Ability to manage the end‑to‑end sales cycle and build long‑term client relationships.
• Attention to detail and disciplined approach to spread management and risk limits.
