About the role
We are seeking a physics expert to work remotely on a short‑term contract. You will design and solve advanced physics problems that are used to evaluate large language models, providing clear, step‑by‑step solutions and detailed reasoning.
Key responsibilities
- Design challenging physics problems for LLM evaluation benchmarks.
- Create clear, structured solutions with thorough reasoning.
- Collaborate with LLM researchers to develop new evaluation tasks spanning undergraduate to PhD level.
- Analyze complex physics problems using logical, systematic approaches.
- Explain physics concepts in simple language, supported by visuals where appropriate.
Required profile
- Master's, Ph.D., or currently pursuing a Ph.D./Postdoctoral degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Creative and lateral thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration in a remote work environment.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least three of the following tools: QuTiP, OQuPy, QuSpin, TenPy, Strawberry Fields, openEMS, ngspice, Quantum ESPRESSO, OpenFOAM, FEniCS/FEniCSx (DOLFINx), WarpX, REBOUND, PYTHIA, Kwant, Elmer FEM, GF180MCU PDK, Sky130 PDK, FreeCAD, Project Chrono, Scilab Xcos, volare, emcee, Icarus Verilog, GTKWave, Verilator, gmsh, pyarmadillo, MeshLab.
What we offer
- Compensation of $346 per approved task.
- Remote work with an 8‑hour daily schedule and a 4‑hour overlap with PST.
- 11‑week contract with immediate start.
