About the role

The President serves as the chief academic and executive leader of Presbyterian University College, overseeing all academic, financial and administrative functions. Reporting to the Council and Senate, the President shapes policy, drives innovation and ensures the institution’s mission aligns with Christian values.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and overall authority over academic, financial and administrative staff.
• Advise the Council and Senate on policy, finance, governance and administration.
• Lead the development of income‑generating ventures and resource mobilisation.
• Champion excellence in scholarship, research and community service.
• Foster an innovative, market‑oriented vision to strengthen programmes and student experience.

Required profile

• Professor or Associate Professor with extensive research and senior administrative experience in higher education.
• Proven record of organisational leadership, strategic planning and problem solving.
• Strong fiscal management background and ability to raise funds.
• Commitment to Christian principles, probity and accountability.
• Willingness to serve a four‑year term, renewable, and to be available for orientation starting 2 June 2014.
