About the role

The University of Ghana invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Provost, College of Education, effective 1 August 2026. Reporting directly to the Vice‑Chancellor, the Provost will provide strategic leadership and overall management of the College, which comprises three academic units and two city campuses in Kumasi and Takoradi.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the College’s academic, administrative and financial operations.
• Coordinate the School of Information and Communication Studies, the School of Education and Leadership, and the School of Continuing and Distance Education.
• Develop and implement growth strategies, including fundraising and resource mobilisation.
• Ensure the College’s policies align with the University’s vision and mission.
• Oversee the two city campuses, maintaining academic standards and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Proven senior academic leadership experience, preferably at a university level.
• Strong record of research, teaching excellence, and external engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to secure funding and manage large‑scale budgets.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant advanced degree (e.g., PhD) in education or a related field.
