Research Chemist / Scientist – Polymer Innovation & Product Development

About the role

Elrisa Chemical Limited is seeking a motivated Research Chemist/Scientist to drive the development of high‑performance polymer solutions for industrial applications. Reporting to the R&D Director, you will translate polymer chemistry concepts into commercially viable products through hands‑on laboratory research, experimental design, and scientific communication.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the development of petroleum‑based and bio‑based resin technologies.
• Design, execute, analyze, and document laboratory experiments with scientific rigor.
• Develop, optimize, and validate new formulations, test methods, and experimental approaches aligned with business objectives.
• Interpret experimental results and provide technical recommendations for product development and commercialization.
• Prepare and present scientific findings through reports, presentations, training sessions, and conferences.
• Write, maintain, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and laboratory documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality, and commercial groups.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 0–5+ years of experience in polymer synthesis, formulation, characterization, or application development.

Required skills

• Experience with polyols, polyurethanes, epoxy resins, unsaturated polyester resins, and fiber‑reinforced composite materials.
• Strong understanding of polymer chemistry and structure‑property relationships.
• Laboratory experimental design, execution, and documentation.
• Development and validation of polymer formulations and test methods.
