Senior Backend Engineer - Node.js & AWS (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer with deep expertise in Node.js and AWS to join a high‑traffic platform on a contract basis. The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver low‑latency, cloud‑native services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy Node.js‑based microservices using AWS services.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Implement secure and efficient RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Lead architectural decisions for cloud infrastructure, including EC2, Lambda, and RDS.
• Monitor system health, debug issues, and create automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of professional Node.js backend development experience.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation.
• Hands‑on experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or ECS).
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB).
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, end‑to‑end) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work independently in a distributed remote team.
