Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Engineering

About the role

The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) invites applications for a Senior Lecturer position within its Faculty of Engineering. The appointment will be in one of the engineering departments – Telecommunications, Computer, Electrical & Electronics, or Mathematics & Statistics – and will involve teaching, research, community service and faculty development in an academic environment located in Tesano, Accra.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality teaching and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Conduct research, publish findings in recognized journals and contribute to the university’s research agenda.
• Provide community service and engage with industry partners.
• Participate in faculty development activities and curriculum design.
• Support departmental administration and academic committees.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant engineering or related discipline.
• Prior appointment as Senior Lecturer at a recognized university with comparable conditions, or eligibility for promotion after at least four years of lecturing experience.
• Minimum of six publications in recognized scholarly journals.
• Demonstrated experience in teaching, research supervision and community engagement.
• Names and addresses of three referees.
