Senior Resource Geologist

About the role

Our client, a globally diversified gold mining organization, is seeking an experienced Ghanaian senior resource geologist. The role focuses on geological mineral resource modelling and estimation, supporting the MRM department and collaborating with database and mapping teams to ensure high‑quality data for modelling.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain lithology, structural, material type, geotechnical, and metallurgical recovery models.
• Advise mining, grade‑control and geotech staff on modelling issues; mentor junior staff in 3D data analysis and resource reconciliation.
• Coordinate drilling programmes, data validation, QA/QC, mapping and sampling/assay protocols to produce robust resource and grade‑control models.
• Recommend and implement improvements to resource modelling processes.
• Monitor regulatory compliance with JORC 2012, NI 43‑101, SAMREC and related standards.
• Review LOM plans against resource models and assess associated risks and opportunities.
• Support evaluation of mine‑mill reconciliation cycles and report discrepancies.
• Collaborate with exploration, production geology and mining teams to optimise resource development and extraction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Earth Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum three years of post‑graduation experience in the mining industry.
• Mincom Statutory Certification for Geologist or eligibility for certification.
• Strong understanding of geostatistics and QA/QC principles.
