Technician II – Diesel Mechanic for Rolling Stock

About the role

The Rolling Stock Engineering team is looking for a Technician II to carry out overhauls and general repairs on diesel engines and related equipment used in container handling at the Tema Port terminal.

Key responsibilities

• Research, develop and implement refurbishment projects to improve container handling equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on reach stackers, empty handlers, RTGs and other lifting gear to boost availability and reduce downtime.
• Diagnose faults and execute rapid repairs to minimise operational delays.
• Assess equipment damage, recommend required spares and ensure repairs meet safety standards.
• Follow all code‑of‑practice and safety regulations during maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Proficiency grade 1 in Heavy‑Duty Diesel Machines and Pumps, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least three years of hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing reach stackers, empty handlers, RTGs and other lifting equipment.
• Strong drive to meet strict deadlines and maintain high equipment reliability.
