Area HR Generalist – Accra, Ghana

About the role

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter‑day Saints is seeking an Area HR Generalist to support HR core functions for its Accra and Tema region. The role requires senior‑level professional knowledge and operates with minimal supervision, handling complex talent acquisition and employee relations matters.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct intake meetings with managers to define job requirements and interview processes.
• Screen, interview, and assess candidates, recommending qualified individuals to hiring managers.
• Manage the end‑to‑end hiring process, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Schedule interviews, administer pre‑hiring assessments, and oversee pre‑boarding activities.
• Train and support managers and HR on talent acquisition tools, best practices, and guidelines.
• Utilize the Oracle applicant tracking system to track candidates and maintain accurate records.
• Handle workforce relations, dispute resolution, and operational risk reporting.
• Conduct exit interviews, manage related administration and reporting, and review legal aspects of employment separations.
• Administer HR policies and interpret guiding principles for the region.

Required profile

• Member of the Church and holder of a valid temple recommend.
• Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of professional HR experience, or a Master’s degree with HR certification.
• Comprehensive knowledge of HR operations, especially talent acquisition.
• Ability to build relationships, consult with business leaders, and deliver excellent customer service.
