Assistant Branch Manager

About the role

Suma Rural Bank PLC is seeking motivated Assistant Branch Managers to support the efficient operation of its branch in Suma-Ahenkro. The role involves assisting the Branch Manager in overseeing daily banking activities, ensuring high levels of customer service, and contributing to the growth of the rural and community banking portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager in supervising day‑to‑day branch operations and staff performance.
• Monitor transaction processing, cash handling, and compliance with banking regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local customers, businesses, and community organisations.
• Prepare and analyse branch performance reports, identifying opportunities for revenue growth.
• Support loan origination, credit assessment, and risk management activities.
• Ensure accurate record‑keeping and timely reporting to head office.

Required profile

• First degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Marketing or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in the banking sector.
• Level 3 professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, ACIB, ICSA or CIM (UK).
• Experience in rural or community banking is highly considered.
