Associate Director, Technical – STRIDES Ghana

About the role

The Associate Director, Technical will lead the design, implementation and technical oversight of the Strengthening Infectious Disease Detection Systems (STRIDES) project in Ghana, supporting Global Health Security objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously refine technical frameworks, tools and approaches in line with normative guidelines and standards.
• Direct technical development and implementation, identify partnership needs and engage qualified partners.
• Monitor all technical aspects of the project from initiation through close‑out, ensuring deliverables meet schedule, budget and quality standards.
• Supervise, mentor and build capacity of technical staff and sub‑recipients.
• Coordinate closely with the Government of Ghana, United States Government policies and FHI 360 headquarters.
• Ensure technical deliverables such as work plans and annual reports are completed on time and within budget.
• Respond to donor and government technical queries and manage compliance with donor, GoG and FHI 360 requirements.
• Collaborate with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor on project monitoring and evaluation.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale health security or infectious disease detection projects.
• Strong background in technical project management and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to supervise and mentor multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with government, donors and partners.
