Chief Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Chief Engineer to lead our dynamic team at the Maintenance Department. The successful candidate will bring strong leadership, a commitment to excellence, and a deep understanding of luxury hospitality maintenance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Run the day‑to‑day affairs of the maintenance department.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
• Ensure repairs and maintenance of all operational equipment in the hotel.
• Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the department.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and register all maintenance items.
• Coordinate fire and safety training with the Security Manager.
• Set up and maintain ongoing skills training for maintenance staff.
• Control payroll and operational costs to stay within budget.

Required profile

• 5‑10+ years of leadership experience managing engineers in a 4‑ or 5‑star resort or luxury hotel.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, electronics, civil engineering or facilities management (Master’s degree advantageous).
• Proven ability to mentor teams, manage projects and budgets, and ensure compliance with local regulatory and safety standards.
• Strong communication skills for reporting to executive boards and coordinating across departments.
• Impeccable attention to detail and a commitment to operational excellence.
