Chief Technology Officer (Founding, Equity‑Only)

About the role

Seynox‑Grid Africa is creating an AI‑native Financial Crime Operating System for mobile money and banking across Africa. The founding CTO will shape the platform’s technical architecture, lead partner‑evaluation sessions, and drive the maturation of fraud‑detection models into production‑ready services.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the technical counterpart in design‑partner evaluations, interfacing with regulatory risk, financial crimes and AML/CFT leads.
• Lead training, refinement and productionisation of fraud‑detection models based on partner feedback.
• Define and maintain the technical architecture across all 21 platform modules and set engineering roadmap priorities.
• Represent technical readiness in regulatory discussions, including Bank of Ghana licensing and Cyber Security Authority registration.
• Oversee technical due diligence and liaison with prospective design partners, and later direct the engineering team once funding is secured.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (required); AWS Certified Machine Learning – Specialty and a cloud‑security certification (e.g., AWS Security, CISSP) are preferred.
• Senior engineering leadership experience (CTO, VP Engineering or Head of Engineering) with a background in fintech, fraud detection or applied machine‑learning systems, preferably in West Africa.

• Machine‑learning model development and deployment.
• Cloud security best practices and certifications.
• Technical architecture design for AI‑native platforms.
• Leadership of engineering teams in high‑ambiguity, pre‑funding environments.
