Claims Payment Officer

About the role

The Claims Payment Officer is responsible for the end‑to‑end processing and reporting of insurance claims, ensuring timely settlement, accurate transaction capture, and a smooth payment experience for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the complete claims payment process from receipt of approved claims to successful settlement within agreed service timelines.
• Accurately capture and post claims transactions in the Financial Management System (FMS) to support financial reporting.
• Monitor customer payment status, proactively communicate updates, and resolve payment‑related enquiries.
• Investigate, resolve, and reprocess failed or returned payments to minimise settlement delays.
• Serve as primary contact for claims payment enquiries, building strong relationships with Operations, Customer Experience, and bank partners.
• Prepare accurate claims reports and provide insights on claim volumes and payment performance.
• Perform bank and cash‑book reconciliations, investigating and resolving unreconciled items.
• Drive continuous improvement in claims payment processes while ensuring compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• Experience in end‑to‑end claims payment or settlement processing.
• Strong knowledge of financial management systems and accounting principles.
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships across multiple functions.
• Attention to detail with a focus on compliance and accuracy.
