Computer Hardware and Refurbishment Center Manager

About the role

The Computer Hardware and Refurbishment Center Manager will lead the day‑to‑day operations of Maxim Nyansa Foundation’s refurbishment hub. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures that donated computers are assessed, repaired, securely wiped, and prepared for deployment to schools and community projects.

Key responsibilities

• Manage intake, assessment, and inventory of all incoming computer equipment.
• Schedule, supervise, and mentor a team of technicians performing repairs and upgrades.
• Maintain documentation, workflow processes, and quality standards for refurbished devices.
• Implement best practices for testing, data wiping, safe disposal, and EHS compliance.
• Track performance metrics, costs, and project timelines, and report to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with other foundation teams to align refurbishment output with educational initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in a related field.
• Hands‑on experience diagnosing and repairing computer hardware.
• Proven ability to lead a technical team in a workshop or lab environment.
• Familiarity with data security, safe disposal, and basic environmental health and safety standards.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication in English.
