About the role

The Deputy Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services will support the Director in ensuring high‑quality, safe patient care across Korle Bu Teaching Hospital. This fixed‑term position (four years, renewable) is responsible for driving quality assurance, policy development, and strategic initiatives within nursing and midwifery services.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Director in overseeing the delivery of nursing and midwifery services.
• Develop and update policies, guidelines, and standards for efficient service provision.
• Provide technical advice on clinical, human‑resource, and procurement matters.
• Monitor and evaluate quality assurance and clinical effectiveness.
• Promote research integration into practice and disseminate findings.
• Organise regular review meetings with nurse managers and submit timely reports.
• Establish networks with local and international nursing and midwifery organisations.
• Support the formulation and implementation of strategic plans and reforms.

Required profile

• Senior‑level nursing or midwifery professional with at least eight years of relevant experience.
• Currently serving officer of Korle Bu Teaching Hospital or a Ministry of Health sister agency.
• Not older than 56 years by September 2025.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, manage teams, and ensure compliance with regulations.
