Director, Legon Centre for International Affairs & Diplomacy

About the role

The University of Ghana seeks a senior academic leader to head the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD). Reporting to the Provost of the College of Humanities, the Director will shape the Centre’s strategic direction, foster interdisciplinary research, and strengthen international networks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and management of LECIAD in line with university policies and statutes.
• Ensure delivery of approved programmes, research projects, and extension activities.
• Oversee human, financial and material resources, maintaining efficiency and good governance.
• Coordinate with the Council, Academic Board and Centre Management Committee on strategic matters.
• Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across Arts, Social Sciences, Business and Law.
• Develop and sustain international partnerships and networks.

Required profile

• Hold professorial status at an academic or research institution, or be an industry professional eligible for a professorial appointment.
• Demonstrated ability to provide academic leadership in teaching, research and community engagement.
• Strong track record of scholarly work and experience in managing academic units.
• Commitment to the University’s vision of global impact and to the College of Humanities’ objectives.
