Director of Information & Communication Technology (DICTS)

About the role

The Director leads the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICTS) at the University of Cape Coast, reporting to the Vice‑Chancellor through the Registrar. The role is full‑time for a three‑year term, renewable once.

Key responsibilities

• Develop policies, programmes and schedules that incorporate privacy and security for academic and administrative information processing.
• Direct and manage all computing and IT strategic plans for the university and its satellite campuses.
• Provide leadership to create a progressive IT environment across the institution.
• Oversee IT investment decisions and advise senior management on system conversions and integrations.
• Design and integrate sound IT architecture, technology standards and best practices.
• Identify and install appropriate IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, security solutions and communication lines.
• Collaborate with university management on new applications and changes to existing systems.

Required profile

• Hold an MBA, M.Sc or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Management Information Systems or related field.
• Be a member in good standing of a recognised professional body.
• Have served as Deputy Director in a university setting.
• Possess at least 10 years of post‑qualification senior‑level experience.
