District Accounts Officer

About the role

The District Accounts Officer ensures accurate financial records for all funds received and disbursed within the district. The role supports cocoa seed fund management, data collection, and reporting to the head office while working closely with the District Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and verify quality seed stocks allocated to the district.
• Maintain accounting records for all district assets, tools, and transactions, including society waybills and ledgers.
• Submit daily SMS and traceability reports to the head office.
• Record cocoa receipts from societies, prepare depot waybills, and oversee grading, sealing, and evacuation to ports.
• Assist the District Manager as needed and report any misconduct.
• Coordinate with the Area Traceability Officer on data‑related issues.
• Arrange field data collection with Purchasing Clerks and ensure their records are up‑to‑date.
• Collect, verify, and consolidate delivery data from Purchasing Clerks and farmers.
• Enter data into web‑based platforms and the Katchile Android application.
• Store paperwork securely and follow confidentiality policies.

Required profile

• First degree, HND, ACCA I, ICAI or CIMAI with an accounting focus.
• Minimum 2 years experience in field data collection within the cocoa bean sourcing industry.
• Ability to lead, plan, coordinate and monitor activities to achieve results.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) to a competent standard.
• Strong report writing, communication and interpersonal skills; team player.
• Self‑motivated with good time and stress management.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of a local language is a plus.
• Willing and able to work in rural communities of Ghana.
